1916

The Engineering Institute is founded by idealists and dreamers.

1932

IE integrates with the revolution of 32 and coordinates the activities of revolutionary engineers.

1933

The creation of CONFEA and CREAs was conceived within IE.

1942

Revista Engenharia is launched, a prestigious and most relevant publication on the subject in the country.

1949

IE proposes frequency standardization in electrical systems in Brazil, which represents a major advance.

1953

IE proposes the creation of Cosipa, fundamental for the development of Brazilian industry.

1968

Subway of SP has projects and works designed by IE.

1969

Embraer's first aircraft, Bandeirante, has a project conceived at IE.

1974

IE examines causes of Joelma's fire. Proposed solutions and standards are adopted by governments.

1975

IE takes to the government the result of the debates on Pro-alcohol. IE considerations are taken for granted.

1999

IE idealizes and creates the Mediation and Arbitration Chamber.

2016

Engineering Institute becomes a century-old institution.

2017

Publication of the first Special Notebook of IE- Ferrovia / Agronegócio.

2020

"Projeto Brasil" was born, consolidation of the eight special sections, focusing on 21st century Brazil.
