Dessa forma, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel ver padr\u00f5es e propriedades comuns dentro de cada grupo de elementos. A tabela de Mendeleev dava espa\u00e7o para abrigar subst\u00e2ncias que viriam a ser descobertas, sem que a divis\u00e3o perdesse o sentido \u2014 e j\u00e1 prevendo as propriedades de elementos at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o desconhecidos.<\/p>\n<p>Ainda assim, muitas outras formas de organizar os elementos qu\u00edmicos foram propostas ao longo dos tempos. Veja algumas delas:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fita enrolada<\/strong><br \/>\nEm 1976, o americano James Franklin Hyde publicou um estudo em que propunha uma forma curva para a tabela, com o sil\u00edcio \u2014base de estudos de Hyde \u2014 ao centro, mostrando como ele est\u00e1 ligado aos demais elementos.<\/p>\n<p>Ainda assim, a tabela tem in\u00edcio com o hidrog\u00eanio, que representa a ponta de uma espiral, na metade direita do desenho. Trata-se de uma espiral que inicia, em seu centro, com o hidrog\u00eanio. Os elementos surgem na sequ\u00eancia em ordem de n\u00famero at\u00f4mico, passando por metais, lantan\u00eddeos e actin\u00eddeos. A primeira, na cor verde-azulada, cont\u00e9m os metais alcalinos de um lado e os metais alcalinos terrestres do outro.
