Outros apag\u00f5es tamb\u00e9m ocorreram na regi\u00e3o devido ao calor do ver\u00e3o australiano no in\u00edcio de 2017. Em resposta para estas quest\u00f5es, o governo sul-australiano, que j\u00e1 \u00e9 l\u00edder em energia renov\u00e1vel, buscou uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o sustent\u00e1vel para garantir a seguran\u00e7a energ\u00e9tica a todos os seus moradores, agora e no futuro, exigindo express\u00f5es de interesse em implantar op\u00e7\u00f5es de armazenamento de energia em larga escala com pelo menos 100 megawatts (MW) de capacidade.<\/p>\n<p>Atrav\u00e9s de um processo de licita\u00e7\u00e3o competitiva, a Tesla foi selecionada para fornecer um sistema Powerpack de 100 MW\/129 MWh para ser emparelhado com um parque e\u00f3lico da empresa de energia mundial Neoen Hornsdale, perto de Jamestown, Austr\u00e1lia do Sul. A Tesla ficar\u00e1 encarregada por todo o componente do sistema de armazenamento de energia do projeto.<\/p>\n<p>O Tesla Powerpack ser\u00e1 carregado com a energia renov\u00e1vel do parque e\u00f3lico de Hornsdale e, em seguida, fornecer\u00e1 eletricidade durante as horas de pico para ajudar a manter a opera\u00e7\u00e3o confi\u00e1vel da infraestrutura el\u00e9trica. O sistema Tesla Powerpack transformar\u00e1 toda a produ\u00e7\u00e3o e distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de energia renov\u00e1vel mais resiliente e moderna.<br \/>\nAp\u00f3s sua conclus\u00e3o, prevista para dezembro de 2017, o sistema ser\u00e1 o maior projeto de armazenamento de bateria de \u00edon-l\u00edtio no mundo e fornecer\u00e1 energia suficiente para mais de 30 mil lares, n\u00famero igual \u00e0 quantidade de casas que perderam energia durante o per\u00edodo do apag\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto de armazenamento de energia em larga escala n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas sustent\u00e1vel, mas ajudar\u00e1 a resolver a falta de energia, reduzir as intermit\u00eancias e gerenciar a carga m\u00e1xima do ver\u00e3o para melhorar a confiabilidade da infraestrutura el\u00e9trica da Austr\u00e1lia do Sul. Al\u00e9m disso, vem crescendo rapidamente o n\u00famero de instala\u00e7\u00f5es de baterias residenciais em toda a Austr\u00e1lia. A mesma tecnologia que pode ajudar a estabilizar a rede da Austr\u00e1lia do Sul tamb\u00e9m pode ser usada pelos pr\u00f3prios propriet\u00e1rios para coletar energia durante o dia para que ela seja
