Apesar dos esfor\u00e7os de limpeza que j\u00e1 contiveram um pouco do material radioativo, a diretoria da Central Nuclear de Fukushima estima que ser\u00e3o necess\u00e1rios mais 30 ou 40 anos para uma higieniza\u00e7\u00e3o completa. <\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1 que os altos n\u00edveis de radia\u00e7\u00e3o tornaram imposs\u00edvel a presen\u00e7a de humanos no pr\u00e9dio do reator 3, a Toshiba anunciou um novo rob\u00f4 que realizar\u00e1 o servi\u00e7o de remover barras de combust\u00edvel nuclear do edif\u00edcio. O androide tem dois bra\u00e7os munidos de ferramentas cortantes, que ser\u00e3o utilizados para prender e cortar canos que movimentavam combust\u00edvel e material radioativo. O aparelho tamb\u00e9m ser\u00e1 equipado de c\u00e2meras, para que os operadores possam acompanhar as incurs\u00f5es ao reator. <\/p>\n<p>O trabalho principal do rob\u00f4 ser\u00e1 fatiar as mais de quinhentas barras de combust\u00edvel danificadas e deposit\u00e1-las em piscinas de resfriamento. Esta \u00e9 uma das etapas mais amea\u00e7adoras da limpeza, j\u00e1 que as barras de combust\u00edvel permanecem altamente radioativas por mais de mil anos, apontam pesquisas. <\/p>\n<p>Em 2014, mais de mil e quinhentos peda\u00e7os de barras de combust\u00edvel foram descartadas em piscinas de resfriamento no pr\u00e9dio do reator 4. Por\u00e9m, o trabalho foi relativamente f\u00e1cil, j\u00e1 que o n\u00edvel de radia\u00e7\u00e3o do edif\u00edcio n\u00e3o era t\u00e3o alto quanto o do pr\u00e9dio do reator 3. <\/p>\n<p>A Toshiba, mais conhecida por desenvolver e produzir eletr\u00f4nicos e eletroeletr\u00f4nicos, ajudou a desenvolver dois reatores que eram utilizados em Fukushima. Depois do acidente nuclear, al\u00e9m do rob\u00f4 anunciado, que deve come\u00e7ar a operar em 2017, a empresa desenvolveu um androide quadr\u00fapede para circular por \u00e1reas fora do alcance
