{"id":24933,"date":"2014-08-18T00:10:50","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T00:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/?p=24933"},"modified":"2014-08-18T16:49:55","modified_gmt":"2014-08-18T16:49:55","slug":"beijaflor-e-mais-eficiente-que-helicoptero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/site\/2014\/08\/18\/beijaflor-e-mais-eficiente-que-helicoptero\/","title":{"rendered":"Beija-flor \u00e9 &#8220;mais eficiente&#8221; que helic\u00f3ptero"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Os pesquisadores afirmam que as &#8220;melhores&#8221; esp\u00e9cies dos passarinhos s\u00e3o 20% mais eficientes que um dos mais avan\u00e7ados micro-helic\u00f3pteros do mundo.<\/p>\n<p>A compara\u00e7\u00e3o leva em conta a energia usada por ambos para se manter em voo. <br \/>\nQuando se comparam helic\u00f3pteros \u00e0 m\u00e9dia dos beija-flores, a tecnologia consegue empatar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>O estudo, coordenado pelo professor David Lentink, da universidade de Stanford, na Calif\u00f3rnia, foi publicado na revista especializada Interface da Royal Society Journal brit\u00e2nica.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Arrasto&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Uma das maiores dificuldades do estudo foi medir a energia despendida pelos passarinhos ao flutuar no ar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Imagine um p\u00e1ssaro de 4g: as for\u00e7as s\u00e3o m\u00ednimas&#8221;, ele afirmou \u00e0 BBC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;O resultado disso \u00e9 que o arrasto nas asas de um beija-flor nunca foi medido com precis\u00e3o.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>O arrasto \u00e9 a for\u00e7a contr\u00e1ria \u00e0 for\u00e7a criada pelo bater das asas dos colibris.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lentink e sua equipe tentaram verificar se as asas do beija-flor s\u00e3o mais eficientes \u2013 ou seja, se aplicam menos energia para superar a for\u00e7a do arrasto \u2013 do que as l\u00e2minas da h\u00e9lice de um helic\u00f3ptero de dimens\u00f5es parecidas.<\/p>\n<p>A compara\u00e7\u00e3o foi feita com um micro-helic\u00f3ptero avan\u00e7ado, o Black Hornet, que pesa 16g e \u00e9 usado por militares brit\u00e2nicos em opera\u00e7\u00f5es de vigil\u00e2ncia no Afeganist\u00e3o.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Para realizar as medi\u00e7\u00f5es em laborat\u00f3rio, os cientistas usaram asas de esp\u00e9cimes de colibri mantidos em museus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Girador de asa&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As asas, avulsas, foram conectadas a um equipamento chamado girador de asa.
