Cientistas de Organovo, em San Diego, conseguiram, pela primeira vez, imprimir pequenas r\u00e9plicas em 3D do f\u00edgado humano.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Com apenas um mil\u00edmetro de profundidade e quatro mil\u00edmetros ao todo, os mini-f\u00edgados podem fazer a maioria das fun\u00e7\u00f5es da vers\u00e3o completa que est\u00e1 a\u00ed perto da sua ves\u00edcula biliar. O que significa que estes ador\u00e1veis produtores de bile podem servir para v\u00e1rias coisas, a mais imediata delas seria observar como o f\u00edgado reage a certas drogas e doen\u00e7as.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An\u00e1lises atuais do f\u00edgado s\u00e3o capazes apenas de durar alguns dias, j\u00e1 que s\u00e3o baseadas em algumas camadas de c\u00e9lulas que n\u00e3o conseguem realizar muitas das fun\u00e7\u00f5es do f\u00edgado. Estes novos mini-f\u00edgados, no entanto, s\u00e3o mais pr\u00f3ximos da vers\u00e3o real, produzindo das prote\u00ednas que carregam horm\u00f4nios e drogas pelo corpo, colesterol, e as principais enzimas de desintoxica\u00e7\u00e3o que permitem consumir quantidades razo\u00e1veis de \u00e1lcool sem morrer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A partir de agora, a Organovo planeja criar \u00f3rg\u00e3os no tamanho real que podem ser transplantados em corpos humanos de verdade. Claro, eles primeiro precisam solucionar o problema de como imprimir grandes quantidades de vasos sangu\u00edneos capazes de nutrir um \u00f3rg\u00e3o inteiro.
