{"id":22208,"date":"2012-04-11T23:35:26","date_gmt":"2012-04-11T23:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/?p=22208"},"modified":"2012-04-11T08:40:34","modified_gmt":"2012-04-11T08:40:34","slug":"ipen-desenvolve-novo-tipo-de-combustivel-nuclear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/site\/2012\/04\/11\/ipen-desenvolve-novo-tipo-de-combustivel-nuclear\/","title":{"rendered":"IPEN desenvolve novo tipo de combust\u00edvel nuclear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>O IPEN (Instituto de Pesquisas Energ\u00e9ticas e Nucleares) desenvolveu um combust\u00edvel com alta concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de ur\u00e2nio, equiparando-se ao que est\u00e1 sendo produzido e utilizado mundialmente. <\/p>\n<p>O novo combust\u00edvel ser\u00e1 utilizado no Reator Multiprop\u00f3sito Brasileiro (RMB), um novo reator nuclear de pesquisas que ser\u00e1 instalado em Iper\u00f3, no interior paulista. <\/p>\n<p>O projeto contou com aporte financeiro da Ag\u00eancia Internacional de Energia At\u00f4mica (AIEA). <\/p>\n<p>O combust\u00edvel desenvolvido incorpora 4,8 gramas de ur\u00e2nio por cent\u00edmetro c\u00fabico, o limite atual para a tecnologia de dispers\u00e3o \u00e0 base de siliceto de ur\u00e2nio. <\/p>\n<p>Placas combust\u00edveis <\/p>\n<p>Para testar e qualificar o combust\u00edvel, os pesquisadores desenvolveram miniplacas combust\u00edveis, que come\u00e7aram a ser irradiadas em junho de 2011 no reator nuclear de pesquisas IEA-R1. <\/p>\n<p>Os pesquisadores querem conferir o comportamento do combust\u00edvel sob irradia\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n<p>Assim, especialistas acompanhar\u00e3o pelos pr\u00f3ximos anos as miniplacas sendo irradiadas, por meio de inspe\u00e7\u00f5es visuais e medidas de espessura.
