Ao custo de US$100 bilh\u00f5es, a ferrovia ir\u00e1 cortar o Estreito de Bering por um t\u00fanel subaqu\u00e1tico ligando as cidades de Uelen, no extremo leste da R\u00fassia, a Nome, no Alasca. <\/p>\n<p>Apresentado pela primeira vez em 2007, o projeto prev\u00ea a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma ferrovia de 103 km de extens\u00e3o &#8211; o dobro da dist\u00e2ncia do Eurot\u00fanel que liga Reino Unido \u00e0 Fran\u00e7a. O objetivo do governo russo \u00e9 facilitar o transporte de petr\u00f3leo e g\u00e1s natural entre os dois pa\u00edses. <\/p>\n<p>A R\u00fassia \u00e9 atualmente a maior exportadora de g\u00e1s natural do mundo e os Estados Unidos, o terceiro maior importador da commodity, de acordo com dados da IEA (International Energy Agency).
