{"id":20413,"date":"2011-05-10T23:13:07","date_gmt":"2011-05-10T23:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/?p=20413"},"modified":"2011-05-10T10:40:49","modified_gmt":"2011-05-10T10:40:49","slug":"engenharia-pont-du-gard-franca-c40-a-60-dc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.institutodeengenharia.org.br\/site\/2011\/05\/10\/engenharia-pont-du-gard-franca-c40-a-60-dc\/","title":{"rendered":"Engenharia: Pont du Gard (Fran\u00e7a) c.40 a 60 d.C."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A ponte-aqueduto sobre o rio Gard, constru\u00edda pelos Romanos no sul da Fran\u00e7a, numa \u00e1rea onde esse belo rio recebe in\u00fameros pequenos afluentes quase todos chamados Gard, ou Gardon, tem 49 metros de altura e, em sua mais longa extens\u00e3o, 275 metros. <\/p>\n<p>Fazia parte de um complexo de quase 50 km constru\u00eddo para transportar \u00e1gua das nascentes do Eure ao castellum divisorum (reservat\u00f3rio de \u00e1gua) na cidade Romana de Nemausus (atual N\u00eemes). <\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 uma obra magn\u00edfica: como s\u00f3 havia 12m de desn\u00edvel entre o Eure e N\u00eemes, os Romanos calcularam um caminho que permitia a \u00e1gua fluir apenas baseada na for\u00e7a da gravidade. <\/p>\n<p>Foram quase 15 anos para terminar o aqueduto, nele trabalharam cerca de 1000 homens e \u00e9 um feito da engenharia e da arquitetura Romanas admirado at\u00e9 hoje. <\/p>\n<p>As pedras eram cortadas de maneira a se encaixarem perfeitamente umas nas outras sem necessidade de cimento e eram erguidas por um sistema de polias. <\/p>\n<p>Um andaime de enorme complexidade foi montado para sustentar o aqueduto durante sua constru\u00e7\u00e3o. Ainda est\u00e3o l\u00e1 os protuberantes apoios para o andaime e os sulcos cavados nas pilastras, projetados para suportar o peso das arma\u00e7\u00f5es semicirculares em madeira, sobre as quais os arcos eram montados&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/site\/userfiles\/pont_2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Os canais, subterr\u00e2neos na maior parte do trajeto, quando encontravam acidentes geogr\u00e1ficos ou topol\u00f3gicos, emergiam por cima de paredes, arcadas ou pontes para poder despejar a \u00e1gua no castellum (foto \u00e0 esquerda); reparem nos furos onde os canos que supriam N\u00eemes eram encaixados. <\/p>\n<p>H\u00e1, naquela regi\u00e3o, outros trechos do aqueduto, mas nenhum t\u00e3o perfeito, t\u00e3o belo e em t\u00e3o bom estado quanto o Pont Du Gard. <\/p>\n<p>Desde o S\u00e9culo IX o aqueduto j\u00e1 n\u00e3o transporta \u00e1gua. As nascentes do Eure ainda s\u00e3o ricas, mas os canais foram sendo obstruidos pelo c\u00e1lcio e pelas plantas e algas que penetravam as fendas entre as rochas e a passagem da \u00e1gua ficou muito prejudicada. <\/p>\n<p>Durante muito tempo foi a \u00fanica ponte para a travessia do rio.
